Images
One thing that always stood out for me with webshrines was images. Nothing quite gets me like slapping some 2k gifs or some stamps, maybe the official art or a random text post I tagged with their names. You can decide how you want to fit them in – I like to use them as dividers between sections or paragraphs. But the main thing is trying to find images;
PicMix: The replacement for blingee now that it’s kicked it. Put blorbo in and start slapping stickers on them from the site’s sticker library and then download it as a gif you smack on your site.
Tumblr: There’s a lot of free assets available on tumblr! The site has a thriving oldwebcore community and you will find plenty in tags like; #old web, #web graphics, #carrd resources, #blinkies, #web resources.
Blinkies.Cafe: A blinkie generator with a ranger of presets to add your own text to! Frequently updated with new templates and tages community submissions.
DeviantArt: I’m going to be real, navigating DeviantArt is a lot more difficult than it used to be and I don’t recommend them as a site to generally use. However, you can find some old profiles and uploads of stamps.
Gifcities.org: Part of the Internet Archive – Archives gifs from across the internet, especially from older websites. While not great for specific fandoms (unless they’re in a very specific group) there’s a fun variety of general gifs you can apply for themeing. Also invites to people’s weddings.
