Profile
This idea I stole from Mappapapa who included “profiles” in their shrines. Essentially, the profile is just a list of some basic information about their relationship with the piece. I really like the idea of a profile as it gives an “at a glance” version of your interest for anyone just wanting to dip their toes in and get an idea of how you’re interacting with a fandom. It also helps create some jumping off points for talking about things at more length once we’re writing the body of the shrine.
There’s a lot of different information you can include here – use as much or as little as you like, and if you think there’s more you’d like to include, do so. For some examples;
- Year I Got Into It
- Media Consumed
- This includes the source material, spin-offs, if you read the source text, if you’ve checked out any adaptations, whether you played the DS shovelware, etc.
- Favourite Characters
- Favourite Scenes
- OTP
- Favourite OTP Scenes
- Other Ships
- What Kind of Fan Content You Make
- What Kind of Fan Content You Consume
- Spotlight Of Thing You Made
- Spotlight Of Thing Someone Else Made
- Don’t Talk To Me About…
- I call these “landmines” like Japanese fandom uses for things like NOTPs - these can include headcanons you don’t jive with, a particular adaptation you hate, etc.
I like presenting these in a table because it makes it easy to read.
You can stylise this however you want; You can make it span the full page or just 30% or 30 pixels if you really want. You can change the colours of the text, the columns, rows, give it a background, etc. Do whatever it takes to make it fit in with you!
